Part 4 of my Places to Visit on The Oregon Coast series is The Astoria Column. Located in the hills of Astoria, Oregon, this park is something my you cannot miss during the dry months. This park is the ideal picnic location on a sunny day. The views from the park alone are out of this world when the sky’s are clear. Explore the history and gift shop or play on the grass and trails nearby. If you can handle heights, climb the 164 step spiral staircase up the tower.
