To be Human, is to Create.

I often see my art as an objective.

A mission to accomplish

A goal to achieve

I was ~born~ for this.

I feel it so deep in my bones

My soul craves to create.

I see everything.

A super power of mine.

A highly critical and observant eye.

An ability to see what others overlook.

A formidable power that I most often use

Against myself.

A tool I use mostly as a weapon

Destruction of my self esteem

For the sake of "improvement"

With great power comes great responsibility

I do not use mine responsibly.

I need to improve.

I need to get better.

I need to study more.

I need to push myself out of my comfort zone.

I need to practice,

Every day.

This is what I want.

This is what I love.

Why put this fire, this drive

The undying will to fight this unending battle

For me to achieve, nothing?

Isn't the worst thing for an artist

To not have their art be seen?

Heard?

To go unknown?

It gets me thinking.

What are my goals?

Is my goal to be seen?

Is my goal to be told?

That I'm an artist?

Is it once I make "that" piece?

Am I an artist then?

Fear of failure.

Of the one thing I've been born to be

Is a heavy weight on my shoulders.

Starving artist.

Dying artist.

Will I become one in death?

Or will I

Will the memory of me and all I've done

Be swept as ash in the wind?

Is fear my motivation?

A thing to master.

Art is not an objective.

Art is not a goal.

Art is not something to master.

Art is an experience.

The human expirence.

The most raw, unfiltered version of humanity.

Art is an act.

An act of humanness.

Art is about how I observe the world.

Color

Light

Shadow

Texture

Movement

Art is about me.

My eyes

My hands

My mind

My love

My soul

Art is for others and it should be seen.

But more than that, I create art for me.
