Navigating celibacy while dating

For those of you that by story, I have been celibate for the last almost 4 years now and it's been one of the best life-changing decisions for me personally when it comes to dating and relationships. I decided to go celibate because I wanted to truly work on healing myself so that I could become a better version of myself and to also attract someone in my life who embodied everything I was and more.

The first 6 months - 1 year, I completely de-centered men out of my life. I didn't talk, entertain, go on a date with any man. This was essential because it taught me to pour back into myself. To focus more on what I wanted to do, get into better shape and level up financially too.

This last year, I finally decided that I was ready to put myself out there in the dating world. One of the most common questions I always get is how do you navigate celibacy while dating? I never tell the men I'm going on date with that I'm celibate until my relationship with them is progressing forward. There's no need to disclose personal information that early on. Once you do express to your person that you are, you typically will get 2 different reactions. One of them is extremely supportive and encouraging and the other is that they don't understand it and it's a deal breaker for them.

I also never tell the men that I'm dating/going out on dates with when I'll break my celibacy because then they will change their moves accordingly to get to that milestone and then dip. Put your boundaries up, be strong about them and if anyone can't respect them, they're not the right person for you!
