My name is Mandana, a 28 year old woman who has been celibate for the last 3.5 years. I'm sharing my story to inspire those who are thinking about going celibate because it's still a taboo topic to talk about. I decided to go celibate after my last relationship ended because I really wanted to work on healing myself. I knew that de-centering men out of my life would put the focus and energy more back into me. I decided that I wasn't going to entertain any man or relationship, go on dates, and truly take this time to focus on healing myself, mentally, physically and emotionally.

People don't realize that when you have sex with someone, you're transferring energy to them, which can create soul ties so if that person has negative energy and you have positive energy, you will start feeling what they're feeling. This generation wants intimacy without love and you can't have one without the other because it's meaningless and unfulfilling.

Celibacy has helped me start my business, pour back into my friendships, build healthier boundaries with myself and has truly helped me see things differently. It has helped me understand what a healthy relationship with yourself and with others looks like. It has helped me try new hobbies and chase after what I've been dreaming about for years. Celibacy is a beautiful thing. You will start to notice that most people don't have much to offer other than sex.
