Here’s what I learned in my 2+ years of celibacy🌸

2.5 years ago, I decided that I wanted to go celibate for a variety of different reasons. Celibacy can mean something else to each person but for me, it's to abstain from sex until I am in a committed relationship. I found myself repeating certain behaviors and patterns that were only hurting me at the end of the day. I'm someone who's considered a "certified lover girl". I love hard and with my all and being all of this in a generation of hook-up culture has made it hard to form and build genuine, authentic connections with others.

I decided to go celibate because I wanted to heal the parts of me that were hurting. I started to ask myself, how could I be the best girlfriend to my man if I'm not at my best? I started to really dig within and ask myself these difficult questions. I can tell you, at first, this was not easy. As humans, it's in our nature to crave that physical intimacy but also understand that soul ties are a real thing. Not everyone deserves to have access to you. Not everyone deserves to have your positive energy.
