Depop Haul & How to Find Them

Depop is my first place to look for any type of item. Instead of buying new, you can find very unique pieces at cheaper prices. Also, buying secondhand is extremely sustainable! Here are some tips on how to find cute items on Depop.

👜Use the right keywords in the search

Since there are so many items listed on Depop, searching for the item you are looking for may take a lot of time and energy. I normally start with 2-3 words that best describe what I am searching for. Then, when I see the item that is closer to what you are looking for, check what the seller wrote in the descriptions to see if any other keywords I can use to narrow down my search.

🩰”Like” the posts!

When I see items that are closer to what I'm looking for (ex. color, materials, style, etc.), I “Like” the posts. The Depop algorithm is pretty good, so more likes will usually give me better suggestion results under the “based on your liked and saves” section.

👗Don’t skip the “you might also like” section

When I found something “closer”, I'll make sure to scroll down and check the “you might also like” section. This is where I find very similar items or items sold by the same seller. This is where I find “unexpected” pieces like the unique skirt on this post. I didn't start looking for this specific style, but I found them through the seller who listed a style of clothing I tend to like.

👒Save the post

I only use “save” when the item matches my size, what I'm looking for, and considering buying them. Since I “like” posts a lot to get a better algorithm, “saved” is my place to keep them before purchasing. I put items here so that I can plan my outfits beforehand to avoid impulse purchases. I also use this page as a mood board.
