My 4 year old started preschool this year and asked that I pack her lunch. I have been wanting to cut back on her Red-40 and added sugars intake and thought this would be a great time to implement this. I did some research and hit the stores.
Juicy Juice for the win!! With no Red-40 or added sugars. I get the variety pack with 4 different flavors and mix it up through the week and she loves them.
The fruit snack we picked were the best ones we could find without making my own which I hope to be able to eventually but for now we will take it.
I make “homemade” uncrustables for her in either a heart or a star (I let her choose the night before). The containers you are seeing are ones that were given to me and I am just trying to get used before looking into better option.
She asked me for the little M&M parfait cups but I didn’t like the price tag so I started making my own. I haven’t looked to far into the yogurts as I get the Yoplait on WIC. But making this post I will be looking into in a bit more. Would love any advice on substitutes for the candy since it’s loaded.
I know it’s not perfect but I’m just starting so I’m getting there and being more vigilant about what is in the food we eat.💙
