Montessori Nail Clipping Work for Toddlers 📚🖍️

🧰 Iems needed;

- A pair of child sized nail clippers

- Uncooked fettuccine noodles

- A small tray for the materials

- A mat to contain the activity as the child works

- Bowl for collecting clipped noodles

👐 How It Works;

1.) Show the child the tray and take them to a mat.

2.) Tell them that they will be working with nail clippers. This is a sharp tool that can cause injury or damage if used inappropriately, tell them that the clippers are only for the noodles at this time and that they shouldn't leave the tray or mat.

3.) Slowly demonstrate how to open the clippers, and how to squeeze them. Use as few words as possible so they can focus on watching.

4.) Pick up a piece of fettuccine from the tray, modeling how to carefully hold a noodle and clip small pieces.

5.) Show the child to put the clippings into a receptacle like a small bowl. This may be dumped into the trash at the end of the activity or used for art projects.

6.) Encourage your child to try! This helps build confidence, precision, and muscle strength in their hands.
