The ABS we didn’t know we needed!! 💪🏻🔨🏠🤯

This was one of the MOST USEFUL tips that we received from our parents - ensure ABS trimming on our carpentry! 💪🏻

✨ABS trimming✨ is a protective material added at the edges of carpentry, joining the laminates pasted over the carpentry seamlessly and smoothly together.

It’s meant for the longevity for our carpentry - to protect the edges of the carpentry and joins the laminate pieces seamlessly together.

It has BOTH a functional✨ and aesthetic✨ purpose.

It also protects and prevents the carpentry from splitting or chipping on the edges easily! As you can see some photos of examples of laminates badly peeling from carpentry!! (creds to pinterest for the example pics) this actually also started to happen in our parents’ home when the older wardrobes didn’t have ABS trimming and the laminates started to peel off and we had to glue them back. It’s unsightly! 🙈

Soooo this was rlly one of the best advice and useful knowledge we gained when going through carpentry details. 🤩

Homeowners might miss this detail out simply because they don’t know about it, and the experts aka ID or contractors don’t inform them adequately about this option. 😣😥

** just a note, ABS trimmings will have a slight, subtle difference in colour as compared to your laminates as they’re of different materials - but carpenters can match the colour as closely as possible. 🎨

so for homeowners - if you can, pls pls pls request for your carpenters to include ABS for allll your carpentry - every nook and cranny - to protect your carpentry and help it last longer and look neater!! 🤩🤩🤩
