Purge Face 🥴

So I’m kind of happy I over exfoliated because those little red bumps turned into real pimples. In a lot of skincare content you hear about “the purge” where you fully breakout one good time before you get truly great, clear skin.

The clogged pores come unclogged and become pimples, dirt that had been hiding in my skin for however long. Now I definitely went too far to the point where I damaged my skin barrier but clearly my pores were still holding in a lot of gunk that needed to come out.

Enzyme exfoliants act almost as a chemical peel would. I’ve heard of girls getting purge face after they use the Ordinary Blood Mask or other peels for the first time - but I didn’t not even the second time. Scrubbing my face super hard with the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask seemed to be the only thing that really got down to the gunk under my skin.

Using all those blemish patches brought the white and black heads to the surface today. So I took my proper popper tool and properly popped all those nasty pimples and black heads before I put on the soothing and clearing I Dew Care Here’s The Tea Tree Sheet Mask. So much gunk came out as you can see on the second slide, this was clearly really necessary for my skin.

I know that I shouldn’t have exfoliated to the point where my skin is raw but hey the end justified the means. I let my skin really absorb the essence from the sheet mask and put on Hero Rescue Balm to soothe the redness and Sheida Snow White Spot Corrector Day Cream to kill those dark spots before they even think of coming. There’s still certain spots I’m gonna put more blemish patches on even after popping and the mask to make sure they really clear up. But overall I think my skin really needed that because a lot cleared up already.

My skin feels clean I mean REALLY clean now and looks fresh besides the little cuts from dermaplaning. I’m not saying I recommend stripping your skin barrier but I don’t think your exfoliant is really exfoliating until it purges your skin.

I think my skin is better for it! It looks glassier than ever before. Now I’ll focus on rebuilding my skin barrier.
