Rotorua, New Zealand Bucket List

I took a two week vacation to New Zealand last December and spent one week on the North Island. One of my stops on the North Island was Rotorua - a region known for its geothermal pools. My favorite things that I did there are:

Redwoods Tree Walk: Walk on suspension bridges between beautiful redwood trees. A friend who lives in New Zealand gave me the tip to do this at night and I'm so glad we did! At night they light up the trees and bridges with beautiful multi-color lights. Prince Harry and Meghan did this on a trip to New Zealand, so you know it's worth your time!

Hobbiton™ Movie Set Tours : Rotorua is one of the closest areas to the Hobbiton movie set. You can book a tour that will pick you up there and bring you to The Shire. This is an absolute must for any Lord of the Rings Fan. You'll have a chance to take tons of photos and see Bilbo Baggins' home. I loved seeing all the details that went into creating this magical land.

Polynesian Spa: This was not originally on my itinerary but I got rained out of going to see the geothermal pools so decided to do this instead. At the Polynesian spa you can soak in geothermal hot spring pools overlooking Lake Rotorua. These are partially covered so perfect for a rainy day. This was so relaxing!
