New Zealand Bucket List: South Island

One of the best trips I've ever taken was to New Zealand. I was there for two weeks and spent one week on the Te Waipounamu / South Island. Below is a bucket list comprised of my favorite things I did there:

Zipline in Glenorchy: Glenorchy is a small town located near Queenstown. Paradise Ziplines will take you through the forest giving you the most incredible views of the mountains and streams running below. I went in a group of six friends and we had a blast!

Take a boat cruise through Doubtful Sound / Patea: The less popular but just as beautiful little sister of Milford Sound, a cruise on Doubtful Sound is a great way to spend a day. Reserve 7+ hours for this tour including transportation to and from Queenstown. Our cruise took us through the sound and out to sea where we saw a group of seals - so cute! This was a long day so be prepared with snacks, water, and sunscreen.

Hike in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park: Arguably the most beautiful place I've ever been, Mount Cook National Park absolutely must be on your bucket list. I did the Hooker Valley Track, which is just under 7 miles of walking and mostly flat so super accessible. The park is free to visit and I cannot recommend this enough.
