How To Become More Securely Attached

Something I’ve always struggled with is putting a lot of my identity into other people. When I was little, this started with trying to be more like the friends I thought were cool or admired. As I got older, I started to become more attached to the boys I would like. This started simply by saying I liked playing video games that they did and quickly turned into me living my life based on their schedule and wants.

If things don’t feel 100% perfect in my relationship, I don’t feel okay in life. I’ve had to practice becoming comfortable and confident in myself and start taking the reins of my own life. I’ve learned to sit in discomfort even when all I wanna do is run away to my comfort zone. I’ve fallen in love with myself and being alone, because I never actually am alone. I have an entire support system of people behind me, regardless of how my relationship is at the moment and I need to remember that!
