How We Split Household Duties in Our Relationship

When you combine your life with someone else, It can be hard and a lot of trial and error to figure out how you should divide household duties.

I think people say the first year of marriage is hard, because it was commonly the first year of living together and figuring out how to split up your life and space with someone else.

Cameron and I started figuring this out by communicating about the chores and responsibilities we both liked and disliked. It was easy to decide I do the laundry and he does the dishes, because we both would prefer those duties and don't enjoy the other.

You can also make a big master list of everything that needs to be done to keep the household organized and then act like it's the next NBA Draft and take turns picking the responsibilities you want to take on.

Don't forget about the mental responsibilities as well if you're grocery shopping, but you have to call her at the store to confirm things are correct, she's still taking on most of the mental load.
