Loving someone with mental health struggles.

Before October’s #mentalhealth awareness month comes to a close, I wanted to share some thoughts from the person who most has to deal with my struggles: my husband.

With how dark my days can be, I know it takes a toll on Ian’s peace as well. I try my best to always think about how I can make sure my struggles don’t become his, and I always try to acknowledge the role he plays as a caretaker (of my mind), and partner. It’s a heavy role to carry - loving someone who struggles with their mental health.

In case you’re the Ian in your relationship, I hope you know you’re so, so appreciated and kind and please take care of your headspace too. In case you’re the Kat, I hope you know that no matter how dark some days may seem, you are loved and worth peace too. 🕊️
