Lights Selection: Picking quality over price! 💡

After searching high and low, we ended up going back to Sol luminaire to buy our living room, dining, hallway, and bedroom lights from them.

They were first recommended to us by friends @ximonding who said “it’s the Apple of light shops”, and during our visit, it didn’t only feel premium, it also was priced very expensive (like 3x the price of other lights). However, the service was phenomenal: they drew and planned our whole lighting and switches layout for us, talked us through the type of ceiling and drivers, and our consultant, Iced, was just phenomenal. But it was REALLY expensive.

So, we took a few months and shopped around more. Even almost got distracted with a competitor (Shiok — which looks to have 90% similarity but at 1/4th the price… super tempting). But they didn’t have a dedicated team to service our questions, and our ID wanted a few sample lights to be sure and Sol Luminaire was kind enough to loan us some lights, and while Shiok Lighting had removable bulbs (easier to change), Sol Luminaire offered onsite repair of their light drivers anyway. Lifespan was also 55,000 hours versus 10,000 hours so…. We realize what our money was paying for: excellent service, quality products, excellent design, and the best consultant ever.

After months sitting on it because of the price tag, we finally decided to go for it. We objectively and genuinely feel they’re the best in the industry now and if you’re willing to spend, they are worth the money.

And if you ever go, please look for Iced. She was phenomenal and was half the reason we went with Sol Luminaire!

Total damage: $1,800.00 for the areas listed above. In contrast, other light shops quoted us $300-$800 for the same area.
