Long distance tips🥰

Hey everyone 💕

With sharing a little bit more about me that also means sharing a bit more of my relationship!! My boyfriend and I have been seeing each other for almost 2 years but officially dating for 9 months. Fun fact about my boyfriend Alex is that he’s actually from Mexico but went to college with me here in the United States (how we met).

I love Alex with all my heart but dating someone who is foreign does come with some obstacles we have had to face together, one being the distance during holidays and summer break. Normally he is back home in Mexico for summer however since it is harder to find an internship for someone on a student visa, he ended up having to do a internship in AMARILLO TEXAS. The middle of nowhere 🥹🥹.

So here are two of the many things we do to keep eachother connected and happy.

-Nightly FaceTimes: I am big on always saying goodnight and I love you before bed and if I can do it while seeing his cutie face then I’ll take that over anything! We try to communicate what time is best for the both of us ahead of time so that way we can make sure to plan our day to have enough time to chat at night. With this it is also important to understand that some days may just be busier than others. It is okay if you cannot FaceTime one night, do not put too much pressure on it because then it loses how special that time truly is. Communication is key.

-Dinner dates from afar: We are both foodies so this is one of our favorite things to do. We will order eachother dinners or sometimes even surprise the other with food delivered to their door! Since food is something we share together as a special bonding moment together, being able to still do it even with distance between us makes me so happy. You can order each other the same meals and hop on a FaceTime and feel like you are eating together while you replay your day!

With long distance it’s important to be comfortable and confident with yourself and your partner. You must communicate honestly and efficiently while respecting each others time. And I promise, the time goes by faster than you think
