MY SELF-TAN ROUTINE (pre/post care)🧖🏻‍♀️✨

Pre-tan:

1. Exfoliate!!!!

I find that coffee scrubs work the best for removing old tan and it leaves my skin soooo smooth (also smells amazing) I use it with an exfoliating sponge to make sure everything comes off good. Any scrub works but this is what I like best!

2. Shave!!!

imo shaving after exfoliating is better so the razor isn’t picking up old skin, I also use men’s 5 blade razors for a closer shave. 🪒

3. Wash!!

Any body wash works, but I like to get in one good wash with a loofa for a little bit extra exfoliating. 🧼

Tan Application:

1. Moisturize commonly dry areas like elbows, ankles, knees, etc. The pigment from the tan will cling to dry areas looking unnatural and patchy. I prefer using the cetaphil lotion for this step. (don’t use too much)

2. Apply your tan with a mitt for a natural looking finish. My favorite tan at the moment is b.tan glow your own way tanning gel, but be warned there is no color guard on this so you have to use your best judgment! Regardless, it’s one of the best and longest lasting tanners i’ve used. It dries down so quick and feels moisturizing rather than drying.

After application I recommend wearing breathable clothing to bed. I usually tan at night so i’ll wear pajama pants and a t-shirt to sleep.

Post-Tan Care:

1. I shower everyday, so I like to use products that won’t make my tan break apart or fade too quickly. My best advice is to find a tan-safe body wash (I can confirm dove products are not tan safe) as well as using baby wash cloths. I get mine from target!!

2. Moisturizing daily is essential to keeping your tan perfect!!!! The lotions I included are all tan safe and I use them regularly. Letting your skin dry out means risking your tan flaking off.

I usually tan twice a week, the same days that I wash my hair😁
