our breastfeeding journey

My breastfeeding journey has come to a close, although Deklyn will be using my Milkify well past her first birthday 🥹 (milkify is a really awesome place that will freeze dry your breastmilk to make it shelf stable for up to three years)

Of all the things I have accomplished, I’m the most proud of myself breastfeeding her for a year. As a mom of a baby only hours old, I told the lactation consultant in the hospital my goal was a year. Drake smirked because he knew if I said I was going to do something, I would do it, no matter what we had to push through. The first four months I hated every minute. I wish I could go back and tell that version of myself that it really would get easier, we would both get better at it, and the year mark (that seemed like forever away) would come a lot faster than you think.

I’ve never been more proud of anything. Thank you, baby girl, for this journey ✨
