$100 Picnic Experience???

If you’re looking for a fuss-free picnic experience, this is for you!

Located at Singapore Botanic Gardens, 🐝Bees Knees offers a fuss-free picnic experience 🧺with their picnic boxes that are ordered at least 2 hours in advance so you can simply grab them and set off on your adventure.

S$55.00 for 2 pax which includes 2 mains, 1 side, 2 drinks, and a free picnic mat.

S$95.00 for 4 pax which includes 4 mains, 1 side, 4 drinks, and a free picnic mat.

The mains would be something you’d expect from a restaurant but priced at $25 per person which isn’t really the most budget-friendly thing 💸💸. For $25, you get a main dish (which could range from sandwiches🥪to pasta🍝) and a drink (canned drinks🥤). If you’d like to get other drinks, you’d have to top up more for them. (Thus, the box my friends and I got was over $100)

The pickup location wasn’t really the easiest to get to without a car. We reached there after a 20 minutes walk from Farrer Park MRT, followed by another 15 minutes walk to another picnic ground. (Although you can picnic around the gallop extension as well)

As the food was prepared in advance, we would suggest you skip fried items like the truffle fries unless you’re going to pick them up before your timeslot, else they will get soggy and nobody likes soggy fries right? 🥲Other than that, the other main dishes were pretty decent and the picnic box also came with plates, utensils, and straws. (Do bring along some wet tissue if needed, as they do not provide them)

We would also recommend that you get the box for 2 pax if you're heading there with 3 pax as the food can get pretty filling. And it would be better to get some extra food by yourself and bring it over instead of getting the next tier (which we regretted🥲).

Overall, we wouldn’t be coming back again for this because it wasn’t very wallet-friendly and the amount of effort needed from getting to the location and finding a spot to the price point and other factors like the weather…it wasn’t really the best. (It was drizzling when we were there and had to quickly finish up the food before the downpour 😢😭) You’d be so much better buying food from a nearby Mcdonalds, getting a picnic mat from Shopee, and cabbing down to the location. Probably spend around $50 for 3 pax with enough for dessert. 🫣🫣🫢
