How much to bao for destinations wedding

I just came back from a destination wedding at South Africa and it was a beautiful vineyard wedding, just that the skies weren't really cooperative

still a very cosy 60pax wedding, we all stayed in the venue too so it's a very safe space. felt very much like hall and chalet days, late night playing games and talking and breakfast was provided the next day too

Personally to even fly for a wedding, it must have been a close friend. it varies from couple to couple and it depends on what was paid for.

Some couples would cover flights, some would cover accoms or some cover both then usually the angbao should factor that in.

for this, it was all expenses on our own hence the couple said to not have to give too much. Some didn't give because the flight tics alone was in the thousands. what are your thoughts because after all wedding is still a big ticket item. PS. I did give of course because it must have been expensive, she had a wedding planner and all
