TWG: high tea with a high price tag 🫖📈

felt a little fancy and went for TWG’s parisian high tea set for two ($88++) the other day with my sis!

this was a splurge and a half, so best believe im going to give my honest opinions 🧐

i went to the ion branch at 4pm on a weekday and there was a queue, however it moved relatively fast. the set items seem to change frequently as what i could find online is different to what i had, so unfortunately i don’t have names for everything i had 🙁

included in the set are: (you can choose your preferred options)

🫖 2x iced or hot tea of choice (might need to top up for some options as if this set wasn’t expensive af already 🥲)

🥧 6x finger sandwiches (3x each)

🥪 1x truffle croque (cut into 4 pieces)

🧁 1x scone with tea jelly

🍋 1x lemon tart (can choose anything from their trolley)

i will give my overall ratings at the end and not individual ratings.

🫖 we got the orange blossom oolong mint tea, one hot and one iced, and i must say pls just go for the hot one cuz the iced ver is super diluted (cuz of the ice, duh) otherwise, i love anything orange so this was a good choice for me! the iced one came with a take home glass straw so that was nice. had to +$3.50 for this particular flavour though 😭

🥧 there was 3 different types of small bites, and i will not lie, i don’t know their names. in fact, most of them were not memorable save for the chilli crab one, it was on top of a fried mantou-croissant type pastry and it was so good!

🥪 the truffle croque was really good as well, nice truffle flavour but the mushroom a bit little ah.

🧁 the star of the show was definitely the desserts, loooove their scone and tea jelly set! it came with black tea jelly and what seemed like freshly whipped cream. i’m not a fan of the cream but the jelly was 10/10! scone is a bit hard but i think that’s the way it’s supposed to be, goes down well with the tea.

🍋 this is the best lemon tart i’ve had in sg 🥲 i love anything citrusy and this tart was sweet but not too sweet with the right amount of tartness. would come back just for this!

overall: 3.5/5 ⭐️

i would’ve given it a 4/5 if not for the price. it was a good experience but nothing to shout about imo. 😅 the amount of food was actually quite filling even though i initially thought it was a small portion, however you’ll definitely get better value elsewhere.
