If you’re like me and LOVE gyoza, you neeeeed to make these. They’re so simple, so quick, and I swear they’ll be a hit with anyone you make them for 🥢🥟
SMASH GYOZA RECIPE
1 lb ground pork
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
3 green onions, finely chopped
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Ponzu sauce
Sweet chili sauce
Package wonton wrappers
Extra sesame oil for pan
Mix pork, garlic, ginger, green onion, soy sauce & sesame oil in bowl
In separate bowl, beat together 1 egg & 1 tbsp water to make egg wash
Take wonton wrapper and brush one side with light layer of egg wash. Take a dollop (bit more than a tbsp) of pork mixture and spread evenly on flat wonton, all the way out to the edges
Heat your pan over medium heat & add tsp sesame oil. Make sure your pan is hot enough before throwing on the gyoza, pork side down to start. They should sound like they are frying immediately. Cook 2 mins & flip. Smash them down & fry on other side for 2 mins. Fold in half and smash both sides together before removing from pan
For dipping sauce - mix equal parts ponzu & sweet chili - my favorite is Melinda’s Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
