This has been in my draft for idk how long..✍🏻️

I hesitated several times within the 1 year hoping things change for the better.. but it never did. 

While some may say or start labelling me as a 'whistle-blower' but so be it, my intention is clear and I want this truth to be out + exposed on social media as much as possible 📲

Starting with a position that never suits me, a receptionist. ☹️

Although I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Marketing & Branding, I was super underpaid for taking up two roles with a humble title; my day-to-day job did involve social media planning, content creation & design, of course customer service + answering texts for appointments but that's not all-

1. I was also 'ordered' to do cleaning duties in the store such as mopping the floor and washing the toilet, as much as I tried to resonate with the C-company values that brain-washes me to 'sell my soul to the company' or "all these tough training is put you in a better place next time.." it is all manipulative bullshit, really. 😕

2. Lunch hour is always so uncertain. I have to miss my lunch sometimes depending how busy the store is. And to have my dinner only after 8pm+.. basically missing my meals for the entire day if I have to put it real.

3. Uniforms. Hair grooming & dress code to follow. Plus a bunch of ‘SOP’ rules when I clearly was only looking for a Marketing job. Not to expect an office job since it includes being a receptionist, but being so underpaid and still demands my full 100% attention in all the given roles got me ded fr.

4. It stated in the contract working hours is from 10am to 8pm daily, but I'm not paid for OTs- which happens regularly (end work at 9pm++) and with only 6 offdays a month and sometimes the offday needs to be approve via the manager agreement. (??)

5. Mentally abused & gaslighted by the 'managers'. Received constant cold treatments, comparison n critics, they do this just to spur competition against me and my colleague. I really dislike this kind of Chinese work culture, not everything needs to be so competitive and serious, it's a job- not a survival show. 🙃

6. Deduction of personal finance- Apparently the managers created a list of SOP to FINE employee money whenever there’s any breaching of the rules, e.g. not keeping the work area clean, or not doing the cleaning duty properly will be a fine of $10, putting personal stuff on work table (such as bottled drinks, coffee, tissue) will be another $10. The worst of all is, the management ppl themselves do not have to follow the SOP they have created, but expect all the employee to follow. In fact, they also add new SOPs rules a few times every month, so its like more and more rules to follow and also means more FINEs going after you. Can you imagine how much stress that is, to abide to all these rules while trying to just do your job properly. And imagine the constant fear of getting fine or punished at work..😔

7. Deduction of Salary - this is more absurd as you think. Among all the SOPs they’ve created, this one is actually really infuriating because if you take sick leave or mc, that's another -$100 for that month's pay because it's not considered 'full attendance" and thus, no incentive of the $100 which is supposedly to be part of your basic pay?

8. You're not allowed to keep a soft or hard copy of your work contract (?) Each time I request to take a look at it, they asked me for the purpose on why I need it and they keep it confidential, I mean ofc they got so much to hide right 🙄 e.g. taking away your basic work rights 🚩

I once expressed my concerns to the managers whose also the HR, but I got played by them instead. I immediately received a warning letter that states I have displayed inappropriate behaviours / misconduct for voicing out my personal thoughts and emotion at work. (??) So I am not allowed to have emotions, or to give feedbacks to the management leaders (?) basically to be treated like a robot.

Anyway, apart from posting this.. im not sure whether I should inform or consult MOM about this either because of the fear i have of losing my job and since im a EP holder, ill have to leave Sg for good if they (the company) cancels my card.. so ppl just be careful out there if you're intending to work for a Chinese company, I truly regret mine. 🤢😩

(PS. I wanna apologize for making the statement that Chinese-companies are red flags, I don't mean 'all' or in general, but just so happen mine was a nutcase to deal with so- pls refrain from having the mindset that all chinese company are like that 😓)
