How did you and your partner choose The Ring™️?

I’ve seen several debates on who should have the final say in the ring, and I want to know your thoughts! Some are on the side of the buyer/proposer choosing the ring based on what they like or what they think their partner will like since they’re buying. Others are on the side of the recipient of the ring being the one to choose, since it’s going on their finger forever.

For me and my husband-to-be, I side with the mutual of the two. While yes he is spending his hard earned money, it is going on my finger for life. My ring in particular is the exact ring I wanted, which also happened to be a very cost efficient option as well as the perfect simple, yet elegant, everyday piece. It’s exactly what I wanted and it was in a perfect price range for the time period he bought it in. We have 3 beautiful boys between us, and are looking to buy a home some time next year, and may have another little one on the way by that time. One day we’ll look for an upgrade after the kids are older and we’ve settled into a home and paid off our cars and whatnot, but the ring I have now is the most perfect piece of jewelry I’ve ever worn and I couldn’t have been happier when he proposed. His ring doesn’t match mine either, because it’s the style/color HE wanted which is also very important for him. He’s a silver man, I’m a gold lady! Each suits our daily wear. He even has a rubber ring to wear to work so he doesn’t lose/mess up the silver one!
