All you need to know - Day Trip to Nusa Penida

The truth about a day trip to Nusa Penida. We booked our package through Klook included lunch (photo 6), round trip taxi from our Airbnb to ferry terminal and round trip ferry tickets to Nusa.

Duration: 0700 - 1700 (stated in package)

Actual duration: 0630 - 2030

⚠️⚠️ Ferry ride back was very hectic. We took a total of 4.5hours to arrive back after multiple transfers and waiting for a long time for our allocated boat to arrive. The staff explained that this happens usually one week out of the month during this season (we went in aug) due to the tide and boats are unable to anchor near shore hence the delay.

We managed to visit these destinations with around 30minutes for each spot only.

1. Angel Billabong

2. Broken Beach

3. Kelingking Beach

4. 3 Snorkelling spots

This was our first activity and we kinda wished we did this after lunch instead as it was really cloudy in the morning and it was super cold to get in the water!! We managed to catch dolphins (unexpected), manta rays and lots of other fish. Water was honestly really really clear and you could see a lot.

The only downside of this was the 3rd spot that they dropped us at had a ton of jellyfish and there was no way to avoid them. We got stung by so many of it, it was quite uncomfortable. That particular spot was also extremely choppy so the boat could not get us out of the water till we swim towards an area with less current. It was quite a struggle 😐

Tips:

Bring snacks and water!! (Lunch provided was quite little)

Apply lots of sunblock

Expect walking to destinations

Cost: $91.30

Overall I wouldn’t really recommend going for a day trip cause it’s really too rush and I didn’t felt like I really explored the places
