RECONSIDER visiting JB KSL Red Hair Salon ❌

Impromptu decided to dye my hair red in JB as i’ve just resigned from work.

This salon seems q reputable but the experience was DISAPPOINTING. I see alot of sponsored post on xiaohongshu and lemon8 so i decided to give it a try. Visited REDS hair salon in KSL (i know the popular one is in city square mall but i thought the quality and service should be about the same…)

anyways onto my experience there~

the stylist came to me and ask what i want to do, with the colour book and introduced the 3 types of hair dye they have. i chose what i wanted and they got me ready & provided drinks and snacks.

this girl headed over and started applying hair dye on me. alls good at this point but i can tell that this girl is new. the staffs kept guiding her verbally & i understand that new staffs need opportunity to learn too.

she washed off the dye once and the girl made mistakes here and there but i mean i understand. the stylist helped to apply the dye for the second time as the previous time turned out too bright. then he introduced hair treatment which i decided to do & he shared that he would give the ampoule/treatment to bring home.

after round two of dyeing, the girl washed off and then did my treatment for me. then washed it off again. then i noticed that my shirt got hair dye on it. the stylist finally came over to help dry my hair and sprayed something on the parts that are dyed and shared that it helps to wash off. he gave me his name card too stating that he would compensate my shirt should it stain.

after i made payment, they did not give me the treatment/ampoule to bring home from the treatment i did. when i asked the staffs at the counter, they just said sorry and gave it to me. the stylist said he thought the girl gave to me and that it’s the girl’s first day at work. the staffs kept apologising and saying paiseh.

if it’s the girls first day at work, shouldn’t they pay closer attention to what she’s doing and guide her along instead of letting her do most things by herself? plus i felt guilt tripped. i’m okay if she makes mistakes with me should i be paying for the trainee or model price. but i’m paying the normal price so it feels unfair to get differentiated treatment.

but all in all, the colour is nice, the people there are friendly but yea not really a pleasant experience
