First, find a place to study where you will not be easily distracted. The library provides a quiet space, however, you may still see people walking and moving around and get disturbed. I prefer an empty office or classroom to study in.

Next, focus your attention on one class at a time. Decide on which course to start with, and then begin learning the material in detail. Once you are more confident with the concepts, move on to the next subject.

Most importantly, practice active recall. Active recall is a study technique where you repeatedly ask your brain to answer questions about a topic. You can create quiz questions for yourself, or modify existing homework questions and work through the solutions. You can also practice verbally answering questions.

Lastly, write down or type up the questions you need to review and practice. College courses are difficult and you may not be able to understand concepts within one study session. Make a note of which homework examples or concepts you need to spend more time on. Then, later in the week you can revisit this note and review those areas.
