Passionfruit Margs 🌺

if you haven’t had a passion fruit flavored cocktail this summer, this is definitely your sign to try one. the passion fruit adds a refreshing, yet sour flavor that is perfect for a poolside sip.

i had one of these at a cozy Mexican restaurant last summer and have not stopped thinking about it since. I was finally feeling the heat of summer today and just knew it was time to finally recreate this drink.

i originally thought it would be so relaxing to make myself this little happy hour marg outside, but five minutes in i was absolutely shvitzing, but determined to finish what i had already started. so today i bring you - THE passionfruit marg of my dreams.

ingredients:

2 oz tequila

1 oz cointreau

1 oz lime juice

1 oz passionfruit juice

1/2 oz simple syrup or agave

to garnish:

salt or sugar lime wedge

1/4 passionfruit

how to:

1. if desired, rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip the rim into a plate of salt or sugar. set glass aside.

2. in a cocktail shaker combine, tequila, cointreau, juices, and syrup. add a handful of ice cubes, tightly close the shaker and shake for about 20 seconds allowing the ingredients to blend and chill.

3. fill your prepped margarita glass with ice cubes and strain your margarita mixture into the glass. add garnishing if desired and enjoy!
