Have you seen these flies (image above) around your house?? 🪰🪰

They go by many names: toilet moths, drain flies, sewer flies, moth flies etc.

One thing's for sure, they are extremely annoying!! And omg.. they multiply at an alarming rate! 😱😖

The larvae live in sludge-based habitats, including the drains in your shower cubicle and bathroom sinks, where they feed on bacteria 🤮

My partner and I have lived in rental apartments for ~7 years and in our own home for ~2.5 years. And these unwelcome visitors are always sure to pay us a visit! 😫

The only good thing is that he developed a BATTLE-TESTED formula over the years 😂

Sharing it with y'all today!

PREPARATION (things to get):

▪️ Moth balls

▪️ Baking soda

▪️ White vinegar

▪️ Disposable plastic container (large enough to cover the drain)

▪️ Boiling water

Now, let's get rid of those flies:

1️⃣ Pour baking soda down the drain

2️⃣ Follow it up with a generous amount of white vinegar

3️⃣ Then pour boiling water down

4️⃣ DRY your drain cover and place moth balls on top

5️⃣ Cover the moth balls with your plastic container

Remember these important tips:

🚫 Don't wet the moth balls; keep them dry for maximum effectiveness.

⏱️ Ideally, leave the setup untouched for 48 hours. But if you need to use the shower, you can temporarily remove the moth balls and container during bathing. Just make sure to DRY the drain cover before putting them back!

🚰 For your sink, it's more tedious since you're prob using it frequently. If possible, use a different sink so you can leave the setup in place.

🗓️ Keep the moth balls and plastic container setup for 14 consecutive days to ensure those flies are completely eliminated. Yes it's a chore but you need to do this if you want to enjoy a fly-free bathroom! 🪰❌

🚿 Don't forget to clear your hair regularly from the shower drain! These moths love moisture and organic matter 😫😣
