First Time Home Buyer Tips: Fixer-Upper 🔧🏡

If you have a fixer-upper in your hands, then that is something exciting and to look forward to!

-I know that buying a home that is not how you want it to look can be stressful. All the big projects and renovations start. If someone else is doing the renovations for you, it may not be that bad. If you are working on everything yourself, it can get overwhelming. Whatever it is the path you are taking, don’t forget to enjoy the process and have fun! Fixing and renovating your home gives you something to do, to distract your mind, and something to look forward to! 🏡

-My home is a fixer-upper and there are a lot of things we have yet to renovate. That is why I wanted to share with you some of the tips that have helped me through the years to keep calm amongst the chaos.

1- TAKE A DEEP BREATH- Focus on one project at a time. I know that seeing a house that needs so much love can make you feel like you wish you had a magic wand, and could just fix everything at once, but unless you have one…breathe and relax. There is no need to rush everything. Remember to take your time on each project and think about how worth it it will all be.

2- BE PATIENCE- If you moved from a smaller place, and now you have a big house, remember that you can slowly furnish it. You may not have the money or you may not find everything you are looking for right now. Search slowly, take your time, and remember that everything will slowly start coming together.

3- HAVE FUN!- Make new memories while doing the projects. Enjoy giving love to your new home and putting it your way.
