HIT OR MISS: JOJI’S DINER 💥

went to Joji’s Diner - Serangoon a while ago because i was craving a good chicken waffle brunch 🥹 unfortunately it didn’t satisfy my cravings and was a big miss for me :( here’s a breakdown of what i had at joji’s:

🍴 strawberry paddlepop milkshake $8.90

definitely far from the best strawberry milkshake i’ve had, tasted really artificial and the strawberry was FROZEN solid so it wasn’t nice to eat either… it was just sweetness overload i could taste more sugar than i could strawberry.

i think i would definitely give this a MISS in the future

🍴 slapjack fry up $12.90

this was SO good, the potatoes were so savoury and were the right amount of salty. the flavours on this plate really balanced each other out because the delicious pancakes w maple syrup was just the right amount of sweetness, while the potatoes were just the right amount of salty and savoury. loved the scrambled eggs which were really well cooked - not too cooked not too soggy, and the sausage just hits. it was so juicy and overall the portion of this dish was really just nice! highly recommend!

i would definitely be ordering this the next time i go to joji’s 🥹

🍴 chicken n waffle $13.90

what i went there FOR!! but not what i left liking the most sadly… it was super jelak after a few bites - i think the waffle didn’t taste as flavourful as i wanted it to. it felt a bit stale and bland to me while the chicken was really dry when i went 😿 might just be that one time though. i couldn’t finish more than half the plate so definitely something you can consider sharing if you’re craving it, but it might have just been because i found it really dry and it was hard to eat more than half based on that fact alone haha

i would personally give it a miss but would also like to give them the benefit of doubt that i just didn’t get a good plate :/ cause i know a lot of people like it and the first time i tried it ages ago, it was also a lot nicer!

total: $42.80 after gst and service charge

OVERALL: 6/10, i feel like the space is quite small too and the milkshake was really disappointing, but they did give free water which i always love about cafes who do 💓 the staff were also really nice which is a plus! but if i were craving brunch food again i might look at other places instead before considering joji’s again 😇
