My boyfriend and I met online at the height of Covid, it was during the summer of 2020. I had reconnected with an old friend and she introduced me and my twin sister to her cousin, her cousin then introduced us to his friend group. We started playing the online game Amongus together and would chat with all of them on discord, my boyfriend and I were quite playful with each other when we were playing the game. After we all got tired of playing amongus they invited my twin and I to play World Of Warcraft with them and so we did. My boyfriend and I did not talk too much but then he always offered to help me on the game whenever I needed it. The first time we ever talked in our own discord chat was me asking him about buying a new computer and he sent me links to some. Him and I then talked a little after that and then it became an every day thing. One day he told me “he would be down for me” which I did not know what he meant so I had to ask and he subtly explained it to me. I was shocked because we hardly ever talked but I wasn’t mad about it, I did one time tell my sister that I liked his voice out all of the guys. We then started communicating more on discord and exchanged numbers, we would text and video call. We did this for a while and then in February of 2021 i flew to California with my sister to meet him! It was very comfortable and natural honestly we got along great and we consider that the time when we got together. He even got me Valentine’s Day gifts which I wasn’t expecting! It was a pleasant surprise!

Fast forward to March 2021 we took a trip together to Seattle with my sister, her boyfriend (also a guy from the friend group) and some of the other guys, which you can see some pictures in the carousel of pics on this post! We had such a good time and we would like to go back one day (they had some amazing lobster Mac and cheese at the Pike Place Market I think that’s what it’s called!)

A couple of months go by and in August I go to see him by myself for a week! I really enjoyed spending time with him and getting to experience new things while visiting. He truly made my visit memorable and I wouldn’t change anything from it! During that time we talked about how our relationship would work and we both agreed that one of us would have to eventually move for it to work long-term. We talked about it for a few days and I decided it would be best if it was me who moved (he had a better paying job and financially it just made more sense).

Fast forward to October he is coming along with one of his friends to help me move to California! Now I’ve been living with him since October 2021, we first lived in a studio for a year and now we live in a one bedroom! Going through this life with him has been amazing! I am not saying it hasn’t come with its challenges, we have had our arguments but we always work through them by talking it out.

Considering this is my first adult relationship I’m super thankful it has been a healthy one. If I could go back in time I would do it all over again!
