- Anchor Chart + Markers

- Potion Bottle Template (or let students draw!)

- Writing Paper + Construction Paper

🧪 Steps:

- Read the book aloud, ask questions, and discuss the cat’s potion mistakes!

- Relate the Spellbook to Procedural Text 📝

- Teach the elements of procedural writing with an anchor chart.

- Partner Talk: What procedural texts have you seen?

- Activity: Write a procedural text on “How to Make a Potion!”

- Brainstorm potion ingredients, transition words, and action verbs together.

- Let students draft, edit, and publish their writing with the potion bottle template!
