🍋 Hey my fellow zesties! Looking for weekend plans? A day trip to East Coast Park is always a great idea! As Singapore's largest park, this place is just bursting with endless excitement and good food. Here's a roundup of some cute cafes and awesome activities for a memorable visit.

1️⃣East Coast Commune (Marine Cove, Area C)

As soon as I stepped inside, it was love at first sight with the cozy interior vibes and captivating wall decor. Fun fact: Turns out some of the artwork is created by the talented local artist Wu Yanking, drawing inspiration from the beautiful surrounding sea. I also ADORED their amazing collection of coffee books, such as the Kinfolk Travel and Softer Volume's Cafes. If you're bringing the little ones along, this place has got you covered with family-friendly facilities like a nursing room and play area.

We popped in for a quick refuel after our cycling session. I couldn't resist ordering their refreshing cold matcha latte (SGD7) while indulging in a heavenly slice of carrot walnut cake (SGD11) topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Can't wait to be back and perhaps thy their dinner menu next time.

2️⃣ PS.Cafe at East Coast Park (Cyclist Park, Area D)

I guess everyone’s familiar with PS Cafe since they’re practically everywhere around Singapore, but the serene beach vibes at their East Coast Park outlet is definitely worth a visit. We swung by for a light afternoon tea and some drinks before our cycling adventure - no online reservations needed. Opted for indoor seating with refreshing ac to beat the heat.

We got the M’s Carrot Cake (SGD14) infused with warm spices and nuts, as well as the Chocolate Red Velvet Cake (SGD16), which was recommended to us by the waitress. Both cakes were worth every penny and calorie! We were also lucky to catch the weekend 1-for-1 mimosa deal until 4pm (SGD23). Sipping on those refreshing cocktails while soaking in the weekend vibes was pure bliss.

If you want to cycle along the scenic ECP beaches and don't have your own bike, there are several options to choose from (my recs below). The entire route from Zone A to H lasts for around 10km, which should take 1-2 hours non-stop.

1️⃣ Helloride: cheapest option

For new users, they offer a free 1 day pass with no commitment at all. Take note that only the first 30 minutes are free, so do remember to end your ride/switch a bike before time runs out. You can also get up to 30 free passes by referring your friends. Top up in amounts of SGD5/10/20, and they have the cheapest passes starting at SGD3.9 for 3 days.

2️⃣ Anywheel: most convenient option

They offer a free 30 minute session for new users, but require you to top up on credits first (min SGD10). Then after, it's SGD1 for every next 30 minutes. Passes start at SGD6.9 for 7 days. Although a bit more expensive than Helloride, I feel that Anywheel has the most number of bikes in Singapore, making it easier to find one when you need it.

3️⃣ Bike Stop: family-friendly option

There are a number of Bike Stops along ECP. The prices are much more expensive (I remember it was SGD20 for the day), but you don't need to worry about finding the parking areas nor are bound to cycling within ECP. You can also get the quad family bikes to share, which are good if you have young children.

1️⃣ SWP (Singapore Wake Park) (Area E)

I was pretty amazed to see this cable -ski park built in a (man-made?) lagoon since I've only wakesurfed behind speedboats in the sea before. Compared to HK, I think the prices are quite reasonable (SGD50/hour per rider), so this is definitely on my bucket list (if you've tried this before, please share your thoughts).

2️⃣ Aloha Sea Sports Centre (Area E)

My mom told me that she learnt how to windsurf in ECP like 20 years ago when she first visited Singapore. I don't think it was at this place, but they do offer courses on windsurfing, stand up paddling and sailing. If you're already a pro, you can just rent their equipment as well.

1️⃣ Coastal Playgrove (Area B)

There are several playgrounds in ECP, but I would definitely recommend checking out Coastal Playgrove, where you'll find Singapore's tallest outdoor slide, four storeys of vertical climbing nets and some water play areas. There were lots of children when we visited, but we still managed to get a ride on the slide. All I can say is remember to wear long pants or else it's not going to be any fun.

Some other food options are enjoying a meal at East Coast Lagoon Food Village (have yet to try this!), packing your own picnic or sizzling up a scrumptious bbq on the sandy shores. Afterwards, how about a game of beach volleyball (just like our cover photo) or camping under the stars? For all the skateboard enthusiasts out there, don't miss the Xtreme Skate Park!

And if you're up for more exploration, make sure to venture into the vibrant Joo Chiat neighborhood nearby. Check out my ultimate foodie's map here and here for some inspiration!
