Carpenter & Cook: What to order 🥐🍳🍓🫐🥧

One of my favourite cafes because of the vibes, aesthetics and their food! 🤎 Check out my reviews on the items I tried below so you know what to order when you’re there! 🥰🥐

1) FRENCH TOAST ($24) - 10/10 MUST TRY

Their French toasts are one of the most unique ones I’ve ever had and every time I go back for it, it never disappoints! No maple syrup is used for this but their berry coulis and vanilla bean chantilly sauce makes for a really unique flavour that isn’t too sweet. Their berries are also super sweet and fresh and the candied almonds adds a nice crunch to the entire dish! 🍓🫐🤍

2) SAVOURY CROSSAINTS ($7-9) - 8/10

Their croissants are very decent to satisfy your buttery and flakey cravings, and their fillings are always made with quality ingredients. Worth trying if you’re craving a savoury pastry! 🥐 you can also add a side of salad (I had kale salad) which I really loved! 🥗

3) CROQUE MONSIEUR ($18) - 7/10

The bread, ham and cheese used were definitely of really good quality but was a little bit salty and dry. I would recommend adding $2 for the sunny side up and it would be perfect!! 🍳

4) APPLE TARTINE ($6+) - 9/10

Really good especially if you’re into sweet pastries and apple pies!! A good mix between flaky, sweet and sour! 🍎

5) QUEEN VIC ($5.50) - 5/10

A sweet flaky pastry with very sweet cream and jam drizzled over it but I found it waaay too sweet and the pastry was quite dry inside. The fresh fruits were really nice but overall I doubt I would order this again unless you have a sweet tooth! 🫐🍭

6) COFFEE ($5.50-8) - 6/10

Their coffee is generally pretty normal and not mind-blowing, but still nice to have to go along with their foods. You’ll have to add $1 to change your milk to oat milk but I generally have a better experience with their iced americano/long blacks than their milk lattes! ☕️
