My newborn sleeps through the night

I have always hated the newborn stage, but my third son has taught me maybe I didn’t really hate it all along… maybe I was just really overwhelmed and wasn’t prepared with the right tools to deal with postpartum life.

I have been diligent with “sleep training” my newborn since he was just a couple days old.

I simply keep him less warm during the day, and then as warm as possible at night. I try to wake him up every couple hours during the day, and stimulate him by talking to him and touching him, while at night time I try to be as gentle and quiet ad possible. I try not to lull him to sleep during the day, while at night time I try to keep him as sleepy as possible.

Those tips and tricks may sound simple enough, but they work, and have changed my life as a mom! He still wakes up every couple hours to nurse, but being able to sleep in between nursings instead of having to stay up all night with a newborn is life changing.
