Look.

If I had a dollar for every time someone has given me parenting advice that wasn’t a parent, I’d be rich.

I’m going to put this bluntly… if you don’t have kids than your parenting advice means absolutely nothing to me.

And even if you do have kids, it doesn’t mean I am going to implement your strategies into my life.

I appreciate hearing other moms experiences and what they’ve learned over the years and what they have read in books, but ultimately at the end of the day we are all going to parent our children differently.

And that’s OK.

That’s a GOOD thing.

I’m glad that some of my friends don’t parent their children the same way that I do. And that’s not because I think I’m doing anything wrong. It’s because I see that they have very different children from my own and then they need a very different parenting style.

I think one of the most toxic parts of social media is the fact that everyone is always trying to convince everyone else that their way is best, no matter the subject.

But this simply just isn’t the case.

I think social media is great for sharing information and trying to help one another learn what we’ve learned, but ultimately not everything that works for our family is going to work for someone else’s family. And something that has worked for our children is not always going to work for someone else’s.

That’s part of the beauty of life.

We all have different children some have more naturally rambunctious and outgoing and will have to help their kids reign it in, while others have very introverted and shy children and will have to help them find their more outgoing side.

Some have extremely naturally book smart kids, while others are going to need a little more time and effort put into learning.

You get my drift.

Because of this, and because of so many other factors, we are going to have very different parenting styles.

I truly believe that God gave and has equipped every parent with the ability to learn their child best, and raise them in the best way that they possibly can for that child specific needs.

So keep that in mind next time you try to convince someone to raise their children differently.
