Easy homemade bagels

2 1/4 cup of warm water

1 1/2 tsp dry yeast

1 tbsp sugar

Mix together and let sit until bubbly.

in a separate bowl mix:

5 cups of flour

1 tsp salt

3 tbsp brown sugar packed

Pour your bubbly mixture into your dry ingredients.

and mix until dough is shaggy.

Place into floured surface and knead until smooth.

form into balls and let rest 30 minutes.

Form your bagel rings and let rest another 30 minutes.

bring 1 pot of water with 1/4 cup of brown sugar to a boil. Boil your bagels about a minute on each side.

Brush with egg wash and add ANY toppings, bake for around 25-30 minutes at 350 until golden.

-if your dough is too dry add water a little at a time
