Tips for taking pictures with a ✨toddler✨

Let’s face it - taking pictures with a toddler is basically a work out 😅 I’ve been taking pictures for brands with my daughter since she was 7 months old. Along the way I’ve learned a few things that have worked for me.

1) Investing in a tripod is key! When I don’t have someone to take my photos for me, my handy tripod saves the day. I also use the lens buddy app which is a self timer app that can take tons of pictures per second 👍🏻

2) Make it a fun experience - incorporate items your child loves into the shoot. Bubbles in the background can be a great distraction. Letting your child hold a toy they love also worked. The technique I use most is tickling my daughter to capture her giggling 🤭

3) Sit by your child or hold them (so they don’t run 🏃🏻‍♀️) Getting at their level has been the easiest way for me to get good photos.

4) Just create the memories - your child will pick up on your mood. If you’re feeling overwhelmed they may be feeling it too! So enjoy the little moments, set up that tripod, and snap away mama! They’re only this little for a short while 🤍
