POMPEII TIPS AND TRICKS

i have never been so exhausted in my life than the day i visited pompeii. The architecture and history was so incredibly cool to see, and the city itself is HUGE. It’s impossible to get through it all in one day! Here’s some of my tips for people looking to visit the site:

- hire a tour guide! we learned so much and saw so many places that we never would have had we just wandered aimlessly. if you can afford it, it’s a worthwhile investment.

- bring water! it’s so incredibly hot, and once you’re in the city itself there’s no place to buy water or food

- wear a hat and sunscreen! like i said, it’ll be hot, and there’s very limited opportunities for shade

- don’t expect to see everything! with how large the city is, running around to try to see everything means you’ll just be exhausted and not enjoy your experience. find a few key buildings you want to see and map them out ahead of time
