The BEST Authentic Italian Restaurant in NJ 🍝🍕

New Jersey is home to an incredible selection of Italian restaurants! While a majority of New Jersey’s Italian restaurants are American-Italian, there are some incredible authentic Italian spots that are a must-try!🍕🍝

I’ve tried numerous restaurants in New Jersey that serve Neapolitan-style pizza, but I have to say, my favorite place I have been to so far is S.Egidio Pizze Salumi Espresso in Ridgewood.😋

Nestled in the quaint downtown of Ridgewood, NJ (Bergen County) lies S. Egidio. This local eatery serves up the most incredible authentic Neapolitan pizzas plus house-made pasta dishes! The ambiance is intimate with limited seating indoors, and a good amount of outdoor seating (weather permitting).🍽️

My personal favorite pizza to order at S. Egidio is the D.S.B. This pie features their mouth-watering dough, pink vodka sauce, smoked mozzarella cheese, and meatballs ($24)! I like to add ricotta cheese as an extra topping.🍕

S.Egidio usually offers a limited selection of handmade pasta dishes, with my favorite being the Gnocchi Pesto. This dish serves up a sizable portion of house-made potato gnocchi (they basically melt in your mouth as they are so soft) tossed in a delicious pesto sauce ($24).🌿

If you love a dessert moment after dinner, than I recommend ordering at least one of their menu offerings such as the Tiramisu ($11) or a gelato/sorbet ($8).🍰

If you are in the NYC or North Jersey area, then I highly recommend making a trip to S. Egidio in Ridewood, NJ. The downtown is also very cute with lots to offer!😆

The attire is smart casual, although they are pretty lienant. I like to wear nice jeans with a simple yet cute top when I visit this restaurant!☺️
