Valentine’s Day as a florist is always interesting

1.) Some men will ask for help finding a bouquet of flowers for their wife…and more help finding one for their girlfriends.

2.) Some guys will flirt with me while picking out flowers for their wives.

3.) A lot of men come rushing in on Valentine’s Day itself, and get annoyed when I don’t have anything left but yellow and white roses. They blame their inability to plan in advance solely on me.

4.) For some reason, the flowers being pretty means I get tons of “wow and the person selling them is beautiful too!” comments that are unwelcome at best, creepy at most.

I’m treated like less than a human being by some customers when it’s busy, but worse than that, I’m just a sexual object to some of the men. I’m not here to be flirted with, I’m here to make money so I can eat.
