Death of the 12 Disciples

Firstly, the twelve disciples where either really dumb, or they knew the real truth. I’ve heard people say “the disciples just pretended Jesus was raised form the dead.” If they knew that Jesus really didn’t rise from the dead, then why would they sacrifice their lives for him? Why would these men let the most gruesome and painful deaths overtake them, unless they really knew and believed that Jesus was God?

Second, recognizing how they went through so much pain, just because they shared their faith, makes me realize that people today (including myself) are sometimes too ashamed and/or embarrassed to even share the Lord’s Word. So i pray that the Lord will give me the strength and courage to be strong in my faith. That if the time ever comes when i’m faced with a choice between death and pain, and not forsaking Christ, i will choose Christ, and i will rejoice through the pain and the suffering and the death that may follow. We are all human and we all make mistakes, even the disciples in the Bible doubted Jesus and had little faith at times. So remember to keep trusting him, and don’t be ashamed when your faith wavers, instead remember all that Jesus has done for you and be glad.
