let’s fight the “tretinoin uglies”🤢

Tretinoin is a prescription-strength topical cream or gel. It’s used mainly to treat acne, textured skin, sun damage, and aging skin. Tretinoin works by irritating the skin and speeding up the life cycle of skin cells so newer, healthier cells can take their place.

Tips for applying tretinoin:

🫧Use all hydrating products the day of tretinoin use (I am currently using tretinoin only every third day). Using hydrating products will help reduce irritation and the lessen the inevitable skin peeling.

🫧 The Sandwich Technique: You can help protect your skin with a layer of moisturizer before applying the tretinoin. Using a hydrating product both before and after the tretinoin will help soothe the skin and mitigate irritation and dryness.

🫧Slow and Steady: As I mentioned, I am using tretinoin every third day, my skin cycle routine is as follows hydrating night > exfoliating night > tretinoin night > repeat. I eventually would like to use tretinoin every other evening but I want to ensure I give my skin adequate time to adjust.
