Why I never wanted my mom to know about my bf!

Let me rant! Real quick let me get a little personal on here!

I know my mom has my best interest when she tells me things but she is a little too negative for everything. Let me explain my bf is a struggling barber. I don’t have any issue helping him and making sure he eats and taking him to where he needs to go from the beginning I was always helping him. I have no issue with that. I love this man and he treats me lovely, yes his financial situation isn’t the best but I don’t care about that at least he is trying to do better and grow and get money. I’m not materialistic and hate that mindset that you need a man with all these materialistic things and have a lot of money.

1. Now this is where me and my mother cling! She says I do too much for him cause I cook for this man and he doesn’t give me money for food and I make sure he eats something in the day because he struggling like I said to make rent this month I don’t want him starving himself. He is also pre-diabetic I don’t want him passing out for not eating. He is my partner and he looks wrong for me to just let him starve. I never deny anyone food.

2. My mother says he is with me for necessity not because he wants to be with me. And it hurts that she says that cause I feel like she doesn’t see me as someone who can be loved or someone he can fall in love with. She always saying once he is good. He is going to throw you out. She says that also because we have a couple years apart he is way younger than me but is so mature and understands me in so many ways.

Honestly I’m tired my mother is the person that makes me so insecure just cause I’m older than him and he is much younger. She says he is gonna get a younger girl when he is of money. She makes me feel so not enough. And then she has the guts to say you can find better. I never met someone who just doesn’t like to see someone happy. She sees that I’m happy by his side and she tends to be negative. Always says she doesn’t see us together. You need an older man a real man with money she says that can support me. But money is not what is gonna make me happy it’s the person. All because he is too young. She continues to say he still he learning about life and doesn’t know what he wants yet. Later on he may not want you and can find someone else he is just starting to live life. And is going to want to experience being with other people. But he always reassures me that’s not it and that he knows what he wants and that he doesn’t like wasting his time.

Pros about my boyfriend!

- doesn’t go out with anyone but me!

- wants to be with me all the time!

- doesn’t drink alcohol nor smoke!

- listens to everything I have to say!

- doesn’t talk to women bc I don’t like it!

- he respects all my rules and boundaries!

- he knows me well and understands me!

- motivates me to go harder!

- is hard working!

- respectful, very loyal and loving!

Cons

- peaky eater

- we don’t have much in common but we make it work!

- Think he is a know it all at times 🤣

- can be a little boring ! He doesn’t do much!

- he is a little complicated to understand at times!

My relationship has been so rocky because of all my insecurities due to my only parent being so negative. I was a maniac jealousy person. Which has caused so much damage to my relationship. But now we are better than ever cause he shows me. That there is only me and no one else. I don’t regret helping out my man. I feel like a woman can also help out her partner if they are struggling nothing wrong for that. Just don’t like being put down for doing so. Lastly she says help him out and let me go. Once is good. Cause he is too young and find you an older man that is already experienced life and know what they want. Now the real question is what does age have to do with knowing what you want! Cause I know older men that still don’t even know what they want! 💁🏽‍♀️🙃 like is there a specific age you have to be to know what you want! 🙃

This is why I never I mean never wanted my mother to know who I date but I did it out of respect and look how things are! 😭😢 we argue all the time now over this stuff. She wants me to take from him when I feel bad this man is really struggling ! And the economy is so bad.
