I am a huge Lisa Jewell fan. I actually bought this book instead of borrowing it from the library. One, because when I move I want to have a library of books I like. Two, I had been on the waiting list for like 2 months at the library and it was taking forever!

A B O U T :

The book follows Josie as she celebrates her 45th birthday at a pub. Here she meets Alix Summer, who is also celebrating her 45th birthday. Both at at such wildly different places in life. Josie becomes captivated by Alix and begs to be featured on her podcast sharing her life story. Going against her initial thoughts, Alix agrees. As she shares her life, Alix becomes more and more shocked and more and more concerned. Events keep building until finally there is no way to go back.

I always like her books. This one wasn’t my absolute favorite. I did really enjoy it. I found the ending slightly unsatisfying and felt that I wanted to know more information and get more closure. I also didn’t feel connected to either character particularly so while I was interested, it was missing a little something. Still a great book but not top tier of hers in my opinion
