New to the gym?

Here are some of my favourite lower body exercises you can do to grow your upper legs (mainly glutes area)

if you are new to the gym, i suggest using lighter weights so you can get a feel of the muscles worked. I made the mistake of going in heavy too fast and i can’t feel the proper muscles, which isn’t good tbh. Its okay going light. Always safety first!

🏋🏻 Routine:

3 sets of 12 reps for each exercises. Finish all 3 sets before moving onto the next exercise

>> Exercise 1: Hip thrusts - works your glutes. Can’t feel your glutes? Here’s a trick: imagine “scooping” with your tailbone in, this should help you feel your glutes better.

•• 60 sec rest ••

>> Exercise 2: Abduction - Works your abductors. This group of muscles are what gives you your rounded hips and helps you stabilise your hips when you are walking, moving around.

>> Exercise 3: Kickbacks - Gosh i love these. Push it up and i totally feel my glutes being isolated. Drawing it back and it works my quads. No kickback machines? Cables are fine too!

>> Exercise 4: RDLs - Love hate relationship with this. Overloaded on this the previous session and i got a sore lower back and hamstrings for 2-3 days. DIED. Totally normal, but i suggest going with what youre comfortable with. This is a silent killer, you will only feel the pain the next day and it comes crazy.

>> End off with a 30 min cycle for a good cardio and leg session. That kind of ache you get after a good workout hurts so good🤓

‼️ Remember to do what youre comfortable with for a start and dont ego lift!
