Hello babes! Ive always felt tired if I were to do my usual routine nearing period. What’s more, doing so made me felt weak and I would, most of the time, be angry at myself for not finishing the usually routine. So I went easier on myself nearing period with #MyGoTo routine when working with period cycles

🩸Menstrual (Days 1-7) - Restorative workout🧘🏻‍♀️

During this phase, your hormones level are low and doing high intensity workouts may tire you out even more since your body will require much more energy to do those. Schedule some time for Self care, especially the first 3 days of your period.

✨ Walk

✨Brisk walking

✨Stretches

✨Yoga

✨Body weight strength if you need.

🩸Follicular (Days 8-14) - Light to Medium Intensity workouts 🧘🏻‍♀️

With the boost in estrogen, you’ll feel boosts in energy, which is great for increasing your workout intensity!

✨Running

✨Swimming

✨Cycling

✨Hiking

🩸Ovulatory (Days 14- 17) - High intensity workouts🧘🏻‍♀️

High estrogen and testosterone levels here would mean you are at your peak and can take up the highest intensity workout!

🩸Luteal (Days 18- 28) - Medium Intensity workouts🧘🏻‍♀️

Luteal Phase exists to prep your uterus for the possibility of a baby. Both estrogen and Progesterone rise, with Progesterone reaching its highest peak – but if the egg doesn’t fertilise, both hormones drop dramatically at the end of this phase. This is also a phase that preps your body for the next period cycle, so don’t go too hard on yourself

These are just examples of exercises you can do. It it totally fine if the low intensity workouts are your personal highest intensity. The idea is that you work with your cycle and prioritise more self care during and before period. Want to challenge yourself? Do it at your peak. Your body will thank you for that!
