🌸 Why I chose to be an EMT 🌸

I just passed my finals and am prepping for the NREMT and thought I’d share WHY I chose this career path!

📒Notes: 🚑 EMS is not rainbows and cupcakes, it is a very difficult and stressful job and sadly has very high suicide, drug use, divorce and alcoholism rates

🚑 You see a lot of horrible things nobody should have to see, but you get the privilege to be the hero on someone’s worst day

🚑 Sometimes you cannot be the hero on someone else’s worst day, people may die despite you doing everything you can, in mass casualty situations you have to triage and step over people begging you for help because others need you more more immediately

🚑 On the other hand EMS is and can be a very rewarding job to do

🚑 The benefits you get in EMS are great

🚑 EMS is one big family, your goal at the end of the day is to make sure everyone gets home. You all look out for each other
